Planet Water VR Story
Through the Planet Water Project, a group of volunteers from an international water services company, Xylem, constructed a water tower providing clean fresh drinking water access for the whole community in a rural village in Cambodia.
Telling the story through the eyes of two characters, an American volunteer and a Cambodian student, the experience highlights the human impact of such projects and increases the level of empathy felt with the audience.
Hiverlab made use of Virtual Reality; in this way putting the viewers in the shoes of both characters. Through experiences like this, it hoped to increase the engagement of volunteers as well as potential funders for NGOs and Charities. This experience was showcased at the International Water Week 2018 in Singapore.

The advantage of this Storyhive VR programme is that it allows the trainers to communicate with a relatively large class and for the students to interact with one another, which is very difficult in a real-life dive situation. In this particular context, we can train a large number of people, not necessarily just employees, at the same time, yet maintain a level of interaction in instruction that cannot be achieved underwater. The demonstration of the VR prototype has been positive.
